RQ-180 Landing in Larissa, Greece

Northrop Grumman RQ-180 photographed in Larissa, Greece

Spotters in Greece have caught an especially good look at what very much appears to be the still highly classified  stealthy, long-range, high-altitude (HALE) reconnaissance drone,  the Northrop Grumman RQ-180 "White Bat". The drone was photographed making a reported emergency landing at Larissa Air Base in Larissa, Greece by local new outlet onlarissa.gr. This recent sighting gives us the clearest photographs of the RQ-180 to date.

Previous Sightings of the Northrop Grumman RQ-180

The Greek Outlet's article mistakenly identifies this aircraft as the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit. It is obvious this aircraft is not a B-2 as the B-2 has a sawtooth trailing edge. While it does have a similar shape to the B-2's successor, the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider, it id not the B-21 as some people on X  have claimed. The B-21 Raider is not in operational yet. Only two flying prototypes have been flown to date. Both are currently undergoing flight testing at Edwards Air Force Base in California, with the first prototype recently photographed undergoing flight refueling tests. The aircraft photographed in Larissa has a shallower wing leading edge than the B-21 and a thinner and much longer wing as well. This type of wing is common for high altitude, long endurance (HALE) aircraft. The U-2 spy plane and the RQ-4/MQ-4C  reconnaissance drones are examples of this.
