Anduril's YFQ-44A prototype made its maiden flight at Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, California on October 31, 2025. The YFQ-44A is one of two aircraft, along with the General Atomics YFQ-42A, that were selected for the Increment 1 phase of the U.S. Air Force's  Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. The CCA program's goal is to design loyal wingman-type drones to accompany American 5th generation stealth fighters, such as the Lockheed Martin's F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II, and forthcoming 6th generation stealth fighters, such as the Boeing F-47 and the U.S. Navy's FA-XX stealth fighter, in a Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) arrangement.
